Reading-We rotate between fiction and nonfiction throughout the year. Students will work on reading levels based on need. Writing-Children will write personal narratives, expository samples through research, and opinion/persuasive pieces. Spelling-All children will be taught weekly spelling concepts. They are expected to practice the concept and not memorize a list. Science-Life Cycles, Solids and Liquids, Weather and Sound Social Studies-Citizenship, Government, History and Artifacts, Cultures and Heritage, Economics, Natural Resources and Maps Daily 5-The Daily 5 structure will be used during reading/language/writing instruction to provide individual work time based on need. gradingStandards-Based Grading is used in Wake County.

homeworkHomework is sent home every night. Students should complete their homework nightly and return it the next day. We will check it together.
